Yours for £980million: The world's 10 most expensive homes

If you've got a spare few million lying around, these incredible places could be right up your street

It's true you don't get much for your money these days on the property market.
And, never more so in London's posh Mayfair.
This week, Britain's smallest £1million property went on the market.
The one- bedroom flat on Berkeley Street comes with a kitchen, bathroom and living room.
But there will be little space for furniture as it's smaller than a London underground tube carriage.
If you've got a little more cash to spare, why not take a look at some of the world's most expensive properties....

Antillia – Mumbai, India

Price tag: £609m
The world's first $1billion home features 27 floors and takes it's name from the mythical island, Antillia. Built by India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani, it even has several floating gardens, not one but three helipads and six floors dedicated to parking.

Villa Leapolda - Cote D'Azure, France

Price tag: £457m
This palace on the French Riviera has more bathrooms than it does bedrooms and is rumoured to have once belonged to Microsoft mogul, Bill Gates.
The villa, which has 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, was left to her by her banker husband, Edmond, after he was murdered by his male nurse in 1999.

One Hyde Park Penthouse – Knightsbridge, Central London

Price tag: £137m
This two-floor apartment boasts features even James Bond would be envious of – bullet proof windows, an air purifer in the event of gas attacks, SAS-trained bodyguards and a panic room.
For the less paranoid, it also has an underground passage to The Mandarin Oriental Hotel but if you're too lazy to get up off the sofa, there's the option of 24-hour room service. And Harrods is your local shop.

Four Fairfield Pond – The Hamptons, New York

Price tag: £133m
This 63-acre mansion has a 91ft long dining room, two tennis courts, a bowling alley, 29 bedrooms and 39 bathrooms – meaning your guests are unlikely to ever be caught short.

Hearst Castle – Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

This Italian style villa was used for iconic scenes in The Godfather and John F Kennedy stayed here on his honeymoon with new wife Jackie. The former home of newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst has 27 bedrooms, its own cinema, night club and an outdoor terrace large enough for 400 guests.

17 Upper Phillimore Gardens – Kensington, South-west London

    Price tag: £980m
Formerly a girls' preparatory school, this five-storey detached Victorian house was bought by Ukrainian businesswoman and friend of Elton John, Elena Franchuk in 2008. It has ten bedrooms, an underground swimming pool, sauna, gym, cinema and panic room.

Seven The Pinnacle – Montana, US

Price tag: £944m
This ski lodge may be up in the mountains but with every floor being heated, you won't feel the cold. It also has an indoor and outdoor pool, it's own private ski lift and spectacular views.

Maison de L'Amitie – Palm Beach, Florida

Price tag: £913m
This beach-side mansion once belonged to Donald Trump and boasts a full sized ballroom, a garage to accommodate 80 cars and bullet proof windows. But, last year, Russian billionaire, Dmitry Rybolovlev, said he wanted to tear it down.

Hala Ranch – Aspen, Colorado

Price tag: £821m
Set in 90 acres, this 15-bedroom estate has a hairdressers, beauty salon the beautiful valleys and mountains of Aspen.

Fleur de Lys – Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

Price tag: £760m
This European style palace has a 50-seat cinema, ballroom, marble walls, a two-storey library and a 1,200m running track.
